Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in an LA Traffic Collision

The visionary game developer, the mind behind the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.

His passing was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.

The influential industry figure died after his car crashed and caught fire on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, according to.

"This is a devastating loss, and we stand with his family and friends, his loved ones, and all those touched by his legacy," an official with Electronic Arts commented.
