President Trump Welcomes Relatives of Attacked Military Soldiers to the Presidential Residence
Former President Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the White House.
He added that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.
Information on the Heartbreaking Event
Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Gatherings across West Virginia have been held in their honor.
Presidential Call
The president stated he’s proposed a White House visit for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.
“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”
Public Support
Attendees assembled over the weekend at the high school in the state to remember Sarah.
Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of the president’s government program to assist policing efforts in DC.
Honoring the Soldier
“She was the individual that instructors wished for. She behaved with quiet strength, a bright grin and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” Hankins, the leader of her alma mater, told the Associated Press. “She was kind, caring and always willing to support those in need.”
Service arrangements for Sarah are in the process of planning.
Judicial Measures and Government Revisions
Law enforcement have accused a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.
The tragedy caused the Trump administration to pause asylum processing and temporarily stop providing visas to owners of travel documents.
Condition of Wolfe
The airman, a native of the city, enlisted in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the Associated Press.
He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey said on television.
Attorney general Pam Bondi stated on the program that she planned to visit his relatives.
Memory of Beckstrom
Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a military police officer with honor, as stated by the state guard.
“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had bravery,” the governor addressed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to last forever.”
