Netflix Chooses Perfect Star for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Third Season
The Secret Organization is poised to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the major clash isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed recently that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Bentham. This character possesses the power to change into an exact copy of any person they’ve touched with their right hand. Escola, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that character reimagined as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the initial comic and animated series.
Escola is joined by multiple new cast members set to bring the organization to the screen, including chief Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.
Even though the role is a key figure of the group, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. With the second season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this represents a major departure in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal additional alterations to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the role. Along with their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is due to premiere for its second season on March 10, 2026.
