Fantastic $30 Map-Making Humble Bundle Is a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream
After a short availability earlier this year, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned for a limited time available until Dec. 2. Described as an extensive collection of mapping tools developed by a specialized software company over the years, the entire collection carries a value of over $1,300. And there are three different bundles available here.
The Main Attraction
The standout feature is certainly permanent access to the CC3+ software, an industry-standard cartography program that can be used to generate various types including fantasy overworld maps, detailed regional charts, urban layouts, and, perhaps most importantly, dungeon and tabletop battle maps.
A regional fantasy map created using the CC3+ software platform.
Package Levels
Entry Level
The most affordable option, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four of the 39 total items: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Castle Source Maps, Urban Source Maps. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, yet it provides fresh fantasy design elements for landscape mapping, more than 750 monster tokens for use in virtual tabletops, over twenty-five aerial castle designs including hundreds of map markers, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.
Mid-Range Option
The eight-item bundle for at least $15 is where things get more interesting through inclusion of a lifetime CC3+ license, the first Annual volume, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, and Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities. The Annual represents the yearly bundle from the company's ongoing subscription program which includes a variety CC3+ add-ons including map packs and additional utilities. Isometric Cities lets you present urban areas in 3D perspective using angled views from multiple angles. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome comprises 760 pages for beginners and "power users" alike, full of tips and tutorials covering cartography techniques.
Complete Collection
Starting at thirty dollars, the comprehensive package contains these components:
- Fractal Terrains 3+
- Dungeon Creation Tool
- City Designer 3
- Cosmographer 3
- Viewpoint Enhancement
- Dioramas 3

All 17 volumes from the Annual series come with this bundle, alongside a slew of other resource and asset packs that can help users craft complete solar systems, or focus exclusively on traditional fantasy world-building: battle maps, underground complexes, urban centers, and land masses from almost any perspective. Users can also create character illustrations. For $30 as opposed to $15, the complete collection offers tremendous value, particularly for mappers who have only the annual CC3+ license and want to upgrade to lifetime. However, it's clearly more advantageous for cartography beginners considering you even get the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The sole limitation is that while you can redeem the deal on any platform, the software is only usable on Windows.
Charitable Component
As with other Humble Bundles, part of every purchase supports charitable organizations. For this one, that's Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb focused on improving the lives of children worldwide via educational programs, medical services, and crisis response. The Bundle Filters option appear near the page top, though users may also choose their donation amount on the right side of the page. Additionally available is an "Adjust Donation" drop-down immediately below, enabling adjustment of the distribution percentage allocated between the platform, developer, and charity.
